this painting depicts purushamriga worshiping crore shivalinga. this subject matter is derived from a subsidiary story of mahabharata and this is one of the rarest indian iconography. purushamriga as visible in this painting is a man with tiger body. purushamriga attacks bheema, on the way bheema seeks help of aanjaneeya. aanjaneeya gave him a fist full of hairs from his tail. when one single hair touches ground 1 crore shivalinga emerged. in this way bheema some how maintains his way up to the yajnashale and thereonwards lord krishna rescues bheema. this image is painted in mysore style of painting. done with water based colors on hand made acid free.Product Code-ART_1489_15237
