This painting was born from a deep reverence for the Himalayan landscape and the ancient human spirit that has inhabited these heights for centuries. A small Buddhist monastery perched on a hilltop becomes the quiet soul of the entire composition — a single stroke of human meaning placed against the vast, indifferent grandeur of mountains and sky.
I built the sky using warm golden ochre, soft peach, and muted rose, blended with broad, confident brush movements to capture the luminous spread of sunrise. The clouds carry visible, textured strokes that give the upper canvas energy and movement, contrasting with the calm haze of the valley below.
The foreground hillock is rendered with earthy sienna and olive tones, while the monastery itself is painted with deliberate, architectural detail — small but firm against the horizon. A winding river in the misty valley adds a sense of journey and depth. Multiple atmospheric layers of pale blue, grey-green, and cream create a gentle recession toward the distant snow-capped peaks. The overall mood is meditative, warm, and timeless.
Ideally paintings don't require much care as its a vertical surface, hence dust doesn't settle quite easily. You can gently dry dust the painting once in a month. You can also gently use a slightly damp cloth and dab it gently over the surface to capture the dust particles. You can do this once in 6 months.
