This Pahari‐style Kangra miniature, rendered in tempera on paper, depicts a moonlit rendezvous between Radha and Krishna on a lotus‐fringed lakefront pavilion: Radha draped in translucent textiles kneels before the blue‐skinned Krishna, whose pearls and feathered turban signal his divinity, all framed by slender columns, gently undulating hills, and a glowing full moon. The fine brushwork and subtle shading articulate ornate patterns on cushions and garments, while a harmonious palette of pale blues, ochre yellows, emerald greens, and muted reds unites decorative motifs with the natural landscape. Through fluid, delicate lines and tonal gradations, this painting conveys both the serene Himalayan setting and the emotional intensity of divine love, exemplifying the lyrical softness and emotive expressiveness characteristic of the 18th-century Kangra school.
