In BANI THANI POP!, artist D. Hemen orchestrates a dynamic, high-contrast synthesis of classical Indian iconography and mid-century Western avant-garde movements. The central subject is an explicit homage to the iconic 18th-century Bani Thani painting—the masterpiece of the Kishangarh school of Rajasthani miniature art, traditionally attributed to Nihâl Chand. Characterized by her elongated, stylized features, arched eyebrows, lotus-like eyes, and elegant posture, this traditional ideal of Indian feminine grace is radically recontextualized through a bold, contemporary lens.
The composition operates at the intersection of Pop Art sensibilities and the structured spatial divisions of Constructivist design. Hemen replaces the delicate, muted tempera washes of the original miniature tradition with a hyper-saturated, electric palette of cerulean blue, vibrant orange, cadmium yellow, and shocking pink. The visual language of mass-media printing is brought to the forefront through the meticulous application of Ben-Day dots and coarse halftone patterns, which texture the figure's skin and sheer veil (odhni), juxtaposing commercial graphic production with historical courtly art.

Ideally paintings don't require much care as its a vertical surface, hence dust doesn't settle quite easily. You can gently dry dust the painting once in a month. You can also gently use a slightly damp cloth and dab it gently over the surface to capture the dust particles. You can do this once in 6 months.
Please do not use soap water, detergent, disinfectants or any chemicals over the painting as it might dissolve the colors. Paper and cloth paintings are usually framed with a glass on top, hence the artwork will remain intact. You would just need to clean the glass. Always keep artworks away from direct sunlight and also from walls having water leakage problem, - as both can damage it.
