Resonance and Roots: A Study in Composition
This piece invites a contemplative dialogue between the enduring stillness of tradition and the vibrant, evolving identity of the youth.
At its heart stands a young figure, bathed in a dramatic interplay of light and shadow—a visual metaphor for the threshold between heritage and personal evolution. The central subject, adorned in attire that honors cultural roots, becomes the fulcrum of the composition. Flanked by the serene, grounding presence of Ganesha on one side and a modern, geometric totem on the other, the work bridges the ancient and the contemporary.
The intentional use of color serves to anchor the viewer’s focus: while the background settles into a sophisticated, muted palette, the central figure and the adjacent totem erupt in a rhythmic dance of warm ochres, deep maroons, and vibrant blues. The framing foliage, rendered in a crisp, graphic style, suggests a natural world that both protects and observes this transition.
Ultimately, this work is not merely a portrait, but an exploration of how we carry the past into the present, finding harmony in the contrast of the colors we choose to wear and the spaces we choose to occupy.
Ideally paintings don't require much care as its a vertical surface, hence dust doesn't settle quite easily. You can gently dry dust the painting once in a month. You can also gently use a slightly damp cloth and dab it gently over the surface to capture the dust particles. You can do this once in 6 months.
Please do not use soap water, detergent, disinfectants or any chemicals over the painting as it might dissolve the colors. Paper and cloth paintings are usually framed with a glass on top, hence the artwork will remain intact. You would just need to clean the glass.
