This evocative watercolor by Mohd Rafi (2025) captures a quiet street in the heart of Jodhpur – the Blue City of India. Bathed in gentle morning light, the artwork showcases traditional havelis with faded blue and yellow facades, intersected by a maze of electric wires — a true reflection of old city life. The lone woman in a saree walking silently through the lane adds a human connection to the everyday charm of this timeless city. With soft washes, bold shadows, and architectural textures, the painting offers a poetic glimpse into Rajasthan’s soulful streets.
Ideally paintings don't require much care as its a vertical surface, hence dust doesn't settle quite easily. You can gently dry dust the painting once in a month. You can also gently use a slightly damp cloth and dab it gently over the surface to capture the dust particles. You can do this once in 6 months.
Please do not use soap water, detergent, disinfectants or any chemicals over the painting as it might dissolve the colors. Paper and cloth paintings are usually framed with a glass on top, hence the artwork will remain intact. You would just need to clean the glass.
