A vivid portrayal of everyday womanhood protected by Durga, with lion, owl and lotus symbolizing courage and wisdom.
The painting celebrates feminine empowerment through the connection between an everyday young woman and Goddess Durga. Durga’s protective presence affirms inner divinity, while the lion embodies courage, the owl offers wisdom, and the lotus signifies purity and spiritual awakening.
This is a symbolic devotional figurative painting with a contemporary illustrative approach. Clearly outlined forms, expressive faces, stylized anatomy, and carefully rendered religious attributes create a narrative image rooted in Indian spiritual iconography while remaining accessible and visually direct.
This painting would suit a meditation room, prayer area, study, personal office, or living room where its message of courage can be appreciated. It is especially fitting for spaces celebrating spirituality, feminine strength, Indian heritage, and reflective daily inspiration. This artwork will complement any room or space beyond those mentioned, depending on individual preference.
The mood is protective, reverent, and quietly courageous. Although the goddess appears powerful through her many arms and weapons, her gesture toward the seated woman feels nurturing. The scene conveys reassurance, confidence, spiritual strength, and a sense of divine guidance.
The composition uses a triangular arrangement centered on the seated woman, with the lion anchoring the left foreground and the owl balancing the right. Durga rises behind them, her radiating arms creating a protective halo-like structure against the uncluttered red field.
A saturated crimson-red background establishes a powerful spiritual atmosphere and sharply frames the figures. Pink, turquoise, white, and saffron garments introduce luminous contrast, while the lion’s warm golden-brown mane and the owl’s patterned colours enrich the sacred palette.
Empowerment is a original handmade painting made by Ankana. This painting is made with acrylic colors on canvas. This artwork is signed by artist, and accompanied with the Certificate of Authenticity. The width of the painting is 48 inches, and its height is 36 inches.
