A tender child and dog rest within a geometric field, where bright color frames an intimate refuge of trust and imagination.
The painting explores childhood innocence, vulnerability, and the private sanctuary created through companionship. A sleeping child embracing a small dog conveys profound trust and tenderness, while the enclosing geometry suggests an imagined inner world where emotional safety is protected from external pressures.
Realistically rendered figuration is set against an orderly, modernist grid of colored squares. This juxtaposition combines intimate narrative painting with geometric abstraction, using crisp block-like forms to frame the softer modelling of the child, dog, clothing, and quietly observed physical closeness.
This painting would suit a child’s bedroom, family living room, nursery, counseling space, or a calm reading area. Its affectionate subject encourages warmth and reflection, while its graphic color structure gives it enough visual energy for contemporary interiors with playful, modern furnishings. This artwork will complement any room or space beyond those mentioned, depending on individual preference.
The mood is gentle, sheltered, and emotionally warm. Although the strong grid introduces control and structure, the sleeping pose and close embrace communicate serenity, trust, and vulnerability. The work feels like a quiet memory of childhood comfort, protected within a lively imaginative setting.
The child and dog form the central horizontal focus, their curled bodies creating a soft, closed silhouette against pale rectangular blocks. Surrounding them, the grid distributes red, yellow, ochre, and dark accents asymmetrically, producing rhythmic movement while reinforcing the figures’ secluded central refuge.
Bright primary yellows and reds establish a playful, energetic visual field, balanced by muted ochres, creamy off-whites, and small black accents. The saturated blue clothing becomes a focal counterpoint, while pale blue-white rectangles create calm visual breathing space around the figures.

In this painting, I explore childhood tenderness and the private world of comfort and trust. The sleeping child curls around a small dog, forming a closed, protective shape that suggests safety and emotional warmth. I placed this realistic, intimate moment within a structured grid of colored squares, contrasting inner softness with outer order. The bright yellows and reds create a playful yet controlled field, while the white blocks isolate the figures like a mental space. This work reflects my interest in innocence, vulnerability, and the quiet refuge found in companionship and inner imagination.
Ideally paintings don't require much care as its a vertical surface, hence dust doesn't settle quite easily. You can gently dry dust the painting once in a month. You can also gently use a slightly damp cloth and dab it gently over the surface to capture the dust particles. You can do this once in 6 months.
Please do not use soap water, detergent, disinfectants or any chemicals over the painting as it might dissolve the colors. Paper and cloth paintings are usually framed with a glass on top, hence the artwork will remain intact. You would just need to clean the glass.
