A lively street scene captures the essence of urban life, featuring iconic yellow taxis amidst bustling crowds.
The painting depicts a bustling city street, focusing on the iconic yellow taxis of Kolkata. It captures the energy and vibrancy of urban life, with a sense of constant motion and activity.
The style is Impressionistic, with loose brushwork and a focus on capturing the overall atmosphere rather than precise details. The artist uses light and shadow effectively to convey the hustle and bustle of a busy city.
This painting is ideal for a living room or office space, where its vibrant energy can inspire and invigorate. It would also suit a modern cafe or restaurant, adding a touch of urban charm. This artwork will complement any room or space beyond those mentioned, depending on individual preference.
The mood is lively and energetic, reflecting the constant movement and activity of city life. Despite the chaos, there is a sense of harmony in the daily routine of the urban environment.
The composition is dynamic, with a strong diagonal perspective leading the viewer's eye through the street. The placement of figures and vehicles creates a sense of depth and movement, guiding the viewer through the scene.
The color palette is warm, dominated by shades of yellow and brown, with splashes of blue and red. This combination evokes a sense of warmth and liveliness, enhancing the dynamic feel of the scene.

In this watercolor painting, I explore the dynamic rhythm of urban life — a fleeting moment on a sunlit street filled with movement, color, and human energy. The familiar yellow taxis, the rush of pedestrians, and the warm afternoon light together create a vibrant symphony of the city’s everyday poetry.
Watercolor, with its fluid and unpredictable nature, mirrors the spontaneity of street life itself. I let the washes and brushstrokes flow freely, allowing the light to emerge naturally and the forms to dissolve into atmosphere. My intention is not to capture every detail, but to evoke a sense of place — the heat, the motion, and the emotional pulse that defines city living.
Through this work, I celebrate the essence of Kolkata’s street culture — its chaos, warmth, and timeless charm — where every corner holds a story, and every shadow breathes life.

Ideally paintings don't require much care as its a vertical surface, hence dust doesn't settle quite easily. You can gently dry dust the painting once in a month. You can also gently use a slightly damp cloth and dab it gently over the surface to capture the dust particles. You can do this once in 6 months.
