A nostalgic sunset garden portal framed by roses and cypresses, inviting a tender journey into cherished memories.
The painting explores nostalgia, memory, and longing for a cherished period of life shaped by daily sunsets. Its stone portal symbolizes both the artist’s former workplace building and an imagined threshold through which the viewer may return to those irreplaceable bygone years.
Rendered in a highly detailed illustrative style, the work combines romantic garden imagery with a gently fantastical sense of place. Fine linework, patterned stone textures, carefully described foliage, and abundant flowering vines create an intimate, storybook-like scene with decorative botanical richness.
This painting would suit a living room, reading nook, bedroom, hallway, or sunroom where a peaceful and personal atmosphere is desired. Its garden detail and warm evening glow also make it especially fitting for spaces dedicated to reflection, creativity, or treasured memories. This artwork will complement any room or space beyond those mentioned, depending on individual preference.
The mood is tender, wistful, and quietly hopeful. Although rooted in longing for the past, the open arch and luminous sunset create an inviting feeling of possibility. The abundant flowers and cultivated garden lend comfort, serenity, and a sense of lovingly preserved remembrance.
A central stone arch acts as the painting’s focal point and visual gateway, framing the bright sunset beyond. A textured path leads inward from the foreground, while tall cypress trees, flowering shrubs, benches, and climbing roses form balanced side borders and deepen the perspective.
Warm sunset creams, peach, pale gold, and soft lavender illuminate the distant sky, while varied greens dominate the garden. Rose pinks, crimson blossoms, blue-purple flowers, and earthy ochres enrich the scene, balancing glowing evening light with cool, densely layered vegetation.

This is a painting birthed from my nostalgia for bygone years when Sunset had been the prime episode for everyday in entire 3 years since 2017 until 2020. My workplace building occupying many acres of land used to silhouette the evening sun light beautifully. Together they prepare colorful painting on the sky canvas every evening, for my viewing pleasure from my hostel ( 10-15 mins walking distance to my workplace) window. The portal painted is in a way standing for that building but now is a wish to leave present day through it and enter those 3 years forever.
Ideally paintings don't require much care as its a vertical surface, hence dust doesn't settle quite easily. You can gently dry dust the painting once in a month. You can also gently use a slightly damp cloth and dab it gently over the surface to capture the dust particles. You can do this once in 6 months.
