This painting explores the spiritual calm of the Buddha through expressive color and texture. I used thick impasto brushwork to construct a tactile surface, allowing light to interact dynamically with the paint. The face is built from broken, mosaic-like colors—yellows, greys, blues, and reds—avoiding hard edges to create a luminous, living surface. The hair is formed with dense, circular strokes, adding rhythm and sculptural depth. A minimal red mark anchors the composition spiritually. The dark background enhances the glow, emphasizing stillness, presence, and inner illumination.
Ideally paintings don't require much care as its a vertical surface, hence dust doesn't settle quite easily. You can gently dry dust the painting once in a month. You can also gently use a slightly damp cloth and dab it gently over the surface to capture the dust particles. You can do this once in 6 months.
Please do not use soap water, detergent, disinfectants or any chemicals over the painting as it might dissolve the colors. Paper and cloth paintings are usually framed with a glass on top, hence the artwork will remain intact. You would just need to clean the glass.
