The idea for this work grew from observing how people slowly change under expectations from family, society, and circumstance. The mirrored composition acts as a visual metaphor for self-reflection, while the surrounding hands symbolize external influence. Together, they create a psychological scene that feels both tender and unsettling.
I wanted viewers to feel a quiet tension: intimacy between the faces contrasted with the discomfort of being shaped by forces beyond one’s control.
Oil was chosen as the medium for its richness, blendability, and depth. The layered application allows for subtle transitions in skin tone, soft highlights, and realistic textures that bring the figures to life. The dark background isolates the subjects
What makes this piece unique is the balance between calmness and psychological tension. It captures a moment that feels still yet emotionally charged, reminding viewers that identity is often shaped quietly without .
Ideally paintings don't require much care as its a vertical surface, hence dust doesn't settle quite easily. You can gently dry dust the painting once in a month. You can also gently use a slightly damp cloth and dab it gently over the surface to capture the dust particles. You can do this once in 6 months.
Please do not use soap water, detergent, disinfectants or any chemicals over the painting as it might dissolve the colors. Paper and cloth paintings are usually framed with a glass on top, hence the artwork will remain intact. You would just need to clean the glass. Always keep artworks away from direct sunlight and also from walls having water leakage problem, - as both can damage it.
- Unframed artworks are shipped in rolled format in a protective tube.
- Framed artworks are shipped in thermocol boxes, secured with multiple layers of bubble wraps.
- We ensure paintings are packed with utmost care to avoid any damage during transit and delivered to you in perfect condition.
- International shipping: Paintings shipped internationally are rolled and shipped in a tube. The painting is not stretched and is not ready to hang. It is meant to be framed by the customer at their local frame shop.
- If paintings are damaged during transit, please contact our customer care within 24 hours of receiving the package. We will provide you with a solution as soon as possible.
