This oil on canvas piece is an exploration of texture and symmetry. I utilized a heavy impasto technique with a palette knife to build the craggy, light-reflecting surface of the central mountain peak, creating a stark contrast with the smooth, blended strokes of the water below. To emphasize the cold atmosphere, I used a base of cool titanium whites and cerulean blues, punctuating the scene with vibrant cadmium orange and crimson on the cabins and lingering autumn foliage to create a strong visual focal point. The goal was to capture the absolute stillness of a mountain lake where the reflection is as significant as the subject itself.
Ideally paintings don't require much care as its a vertical surface, hence dust doesn't settle quite easily. You can gently dry dust the painting once in a month. You can also gently use a slightly damp cloth and dab it gently over the surface to capture the dust particles. You can do this once in 6 months.
Please do not use soap water, detergent, disinfectants or any chemicals over the painting as it might dissolve the colors. Paper and cloth paintings are usually framed with a glass on top, hence the artwork will remain intact. You would just need to clean the glass.
