This painting is inspired from the extracted poem.The only addition is the peacock. The poem is about personifying the moon as an aged lady unable to find her worthy love. Now she gazes towards earth every night in search of her worthy love. In this painting, the peacock is the one who is in love with the moon and enjoys the mystic atmosphere created by the moonlight. But he is unable to seize the attention of the moon or to reach her. This way the story remains incomplete.
